Sandoval-GRNW1On August 19, Senator Martin Sandoval (D-Chicago) was the guest speaker at the monthly Garfield Ridge Neighborhood Watch Meeting.

Al Cacciottolo, president of GRNW, praised Senator Sandoval at the meeting. “Senator Sandoval tries to get everything done that he possibly can,” stated Cacciottolo.

Residents of Garfield Ridge who attended the meeting, discussed concerns and ideas on how to improve neighborhood safety and cleanliness.

Senator Sandoval thanked the residents and Cacciottolo for being involved in the neighborhood watch program.

“You can be home watching TV, but you choose to be of service to your communities and I appreciate that,” stated Sandoval, “You are the eyes and ears of our communities.”

 “It is important to understand what’s on people’s minds, and groups like these help,” said Sandoval, “It is all about communication in helping end crime, keeping our streets clean and having good schools.”

“Research has shown that students benefit from parent involvement in many ways,” said Sandoval. “I encourage all parents to get involved in their children’s education.”
